Collecting Dolls

Hi, my name is Donna and I've been collecting dolls for many years. I even got my mother and sister collecting too, however my sister has pass and I have some of hers dolls now. Once my mother was out garage selling and went to Estate Auction and this was before she started collecting and she found a old doll bought it for $1.00 and gave it to me and I started looking at it and on the back of the neck it was stamp Madame Alexander and stamp either 1952 or 1925 it's hard to tell because the 2 is upside down, but I did some research on it and someone told me it couldn't be 1925 because those dolls weren't made in 1926. I had it appraised and was told it was worth about $500.00 and I told my mom she should of keep the doll it was worth some money and she said give it back and I said no! Are you Indian Giver! (LOL). And I still have the doll, but it's so old the bands that hold the legs and arms broke and need to take it to a doll shop and have it fixed.  I have about 50 dolls and hope to pass them on to all my grand-daughters some day.
Thanks for taking the time to read my little story!
